A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in LCDProc up to 0.4.4. This issue affects the function parse_all_client_messages of the component Message Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Multiple buffer overflows in LCDProc 0.4.1, and possibly other 0.4.x versions up to 0.4.4, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via (1) a long invalid command to parse_all_client_messages function, or (2) long argv command to test_func_func function.
