A vulnerability was found in LDAP Integration with Active Directory and OpenLDAP - NTLM & Kerberos Login Extension on Joomla (Directory Service Software) (version now known). It has been classified as critical. Affected is some unknown processing. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a ldap injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-90. The product constructs all or part of an LDAP query using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended LDAP query when it is sent to a downstream component. The 'LDAP Integration with Active Directory and OpenLDAP - NTLM & Kerberos Login' extension is vulnerable to LDAP Injection since is not properly sanitizing the 'username' POST parameter. An attacker can manipulate this paramter to dump arbitrary contents form the LDAP Database.
The weakness was presented 01/18/2023. The advisory is shared for download at extensions.joomla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-23749 since 01/17/2023. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
