A vulnerability has been found in Cutephp CuteNews 0.88/1.3/1.3.1 (Content Management System) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file show_archives.php/show_news.php. The manipulation of the argument id with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in (1) show_archives.php, (2) show_news.php, and possibly other php files in CuteNews 1.3.1 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary script or HTML via the id parameter.
The weakness was presented 08/06/2004 by DarkBicho (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-0660 since 07/12/2004. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

By approaching the search of inurl:show_archives.php/show_news.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
