Music daemon (musicd) 0.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by calling LOAD with a binary file as an argument, then calling SHOWLIST.
The weakness was disclosed 08/23/2004 by Tal0n (Website). The advisory is available at musicdaemon.sourceforge.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1741 since 02/26/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
