You should upgrade the affected component.
Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Linux Kernel up to 5.x (Operating System). This affects the function nft_trans_alloc_gfp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
In nf_tables_updtable, if nf_tables_table_enable returns an error, nft_trans_destroy is called to free the transaction object. nft_trans_destroy() calls list_del(), but the transaction was never placed on a list -- the list head is all zeroes, this results in a NULL pointer dereference.
The weakness was released 03/01/2023 as 580077855a40741cf511766129702d97ff02f4d9. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2023-1095 since 02/28/2023. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
