A vulnerability has been found in XWiki Platform (Content Management System) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block. XWiki Platform is a generic wiki platform offering runtime services for applications built on top of it. It's possible to make the farm unusable by adding an object to a page with a huge number (e.g. 67108863). Most of the time this will fill the memory allocated to XWiki and make it unusable every time this document is manipulated. This issue has been patched in XWiki 14.0-rc-1.
The weakness was released 03/03/2023 as GHSA-92wp-r7hm-42g7. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2023-26470 since 02/23/2023. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 14.0-rc-1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 04e5a89d2879b160cdfaea846024d3d9c1a525e6 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
