A vulnerability was found in Google TensorFlow up to 2.11.0 (Artificial Intelligence Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function QuantizedMatMulWithBiasAndDequantize. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability. TensorFlow is an open source platform for machine learning. Versions prior to 2.12.0 and 2.11.1 have a null point error in QuantizedMatMulWithBiasAndDequantize with MKL enabled. A fix is included in TensorFlow version 2.12.0 and version 2.11.1.
The weakness was presented 03/25/2023 as GHSA-49rq-hwc3-x77w. The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-25670 since 02/09/2023. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
