CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability was found in angular. It has been classified as problematic. Impacted is an unknown function. The manipulation leads to redos. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2023-26117. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. No exploit exists.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in angular (JavaScript Library) (unknown version) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a redos vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-1333. The product uses a regular expression with an inefficient, possibly exponential worst-case computational complexity that consumes excessive CPU cycles. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:

Versions of the package angular from 1.0.0 are vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) via the $resource service due to the usage of an insecure regular expression. Exploiting this vulnerability is possible by a large carefully-crafted input, which can result in catastrophic backtracking.

The weakness was disclosed 03/30/2023 as SNYK-JS-ANGULAR-3373045. The advisory is shared at security.snyk.io. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-26117 since 02/20/2023. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1449.003 for this issue.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 209061 (F5 Networks BIG-IP : Multiple Angular JS vulnerabilities (K000141463)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at Tenable (209061). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
