The BT Voyager 2000 Wireless ADSL Router has a default public SNMP community name, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information such as the password, which is stored in plaintext.
The weakness was disclosed 12/06/2004 by Konstantin V. Gavrilenko as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-0616 since 06/29/2004. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
