Novell Client for Windows 4.8 and 4.9 does not restrict access to the clipboard contents while a machine is locked, which allows users with physical access to read the current clipboard contents by pasting them into the "User Name" field on the login prompt.
The weakness was presented 05/23/2006 by Eitan Caspi as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-2612 since 05/25/2006. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
