HP-UX B.11.00 through B.11.23, when running Ignite-UX and using the add_new_client command, causes the TFTP server to set world-writable permissions on part of the directory tree, which allows remote attackers to modify data or cause disk consumption.

The bug was discovered 08/16/2005. The weakness was shared 12/31/2004 by Martin O'Neal with Corsaire (Website). The advisory is shared at xforce.iss.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-0952 since 10/13/2004. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
