A vulnerability was found in rubygem-moped (Programming Language Software) (version unknown). It has been declared as problematic. The Moped::BSON::ObjecId.legal? method in rubygem-moped before commit dd5a7c14b5d2e466f7875d079af71ad19774609b allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (worker resource consumption) or perform a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack via a crafted string.
The weakness was shared 04/21/2023. It is possible to read the advisory at sakurity.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-4410 since 06/06/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
