Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Nokia NetAct (Smartphone Operating System). Affected is an unknown function of the component Performance Manager Page. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a xml external entity reference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-611. The product processes an XML document that can contain XML entities with URIs that resolve to documents outside of the intended sphere of control, causing the product to embed incorrect documents into its output. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An XXE issue was discovered in Nokia NetAct before 22 FP2211 via an XML document to a Performance Manager page. Input validation and a proper XML parser configuration are missing. For an external attacker, it is very difficult to exploit this, because a few dynamically created parameters such as Jsession-id, a CSRF token, and an Nxsrf token would be needed. The attack can realistically only be performed by an internal user.
The weakness was presented 04/25/2023. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-26058 since 02/19/2023. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
Upgrading to version 22 FP2211 eliminates this vulnerability.
