A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Jelsoft vBulletin up to 3.0.6 (Forum Software). This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file ttlast.php. The manipulation of the argument fsel with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in (1) ttlast.php and (2) last10.php in vBulletin 3.0.x allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL statements via the fsel parameter, as demonstrated using last.php.
The weakness was presented 11/11/2004 by Dr. Death as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1515 since 02/18/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
