A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Apsis Pound up to 1.5. This issue affects the function logmsg of the file svc.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. Format string vulnerability in the logmsg function in svc.c for Pound 1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in syslog messages.
The bug was discovered 05/03/2004. The weakness was disclosed 05/03/2004 by Akira Higuchi (Website). The advisory is shared at apsis.ch.
