A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Easy Software Products CUPS (Printing Software). This affects some unknown functionality of the file cupsd.conf. CUPS before 1.1.21rc1 treats a Location directive in cupsd.conf as case sensitive, which allows attackers to bypass intended ACLs via a printer name containing uppercase or lowercase letters that are different from what is specified in the directive.
The bug was discovered 05/05/2004. The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2004 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at cups.org.
