A vulnerability was found in e107 CMS (Content Management System) (affected version not known). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in e107 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary script or HTML via the "login name/author" field in the (1) news submit or (2) article submit functions.
The weakness was published 05/06/2004 by SmOk3 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-2261 since 07/19/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
