The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Ansel 2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or web script via the album name.
The bug was discovered 11/12/2004. The weakness was released 12/06/2004 by Secunia Security Advisories with Secunia Research (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com.
