Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Trend Micro Control Manager (TMCM) 3.5 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the username field on the login page, which is not properly sanitized before being displayed in the error log.

The weakness was disclosed 06/27/2006 by Darren Bounds with Intrusense (Website). The advisory is available at lists.grok.org.uk. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-3261 since 06/27/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
