Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Apple macOS up to 13.4.1 (Operating System). Affected is an unknown part of the component curl. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An information disclosure vulnerability exists in curl <v8.1.0 when doing HTTP(S) transfers, libcurl might erroneously use the read callback (`CURLOPT_READFUNCTION`) to ask for data to send, even when the `CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS` option has been set, if the same handle previously wasused to issue a `PUT` request which used that callback. This flaw may surprise the application and cause it to misbehave and either send off the wrong data or use memory after free or similar in the second transfer. The problem exists in the logic for a reused handle when it is (expected to be) changed from a PUT to a POST.
The weakness was published 07/24/2023 as HT213843 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-28322.
