Polar HelpDesk 3.0 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by setting the UserId and UserType values in a cookie.

The weakness was disclosed 07/22/2004 by Noam Rathaus (Website). The advisory is available at securiteam.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-2736 since 10/08/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
