A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in PrestaShop up to 8.1.0 (E-Commerce Management Software). This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Product Search. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. PrestaShop is an open source e-commerce web application. Prior to version 8.1.1, SQL injection possible in the product search field, in BO's product page. Version 8.1.1 contains a patch for this issue. There are no known workarounds.
The weakness was presented 08/08/2023 as GHSA-75p5-jwx4-qw9h. The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-39524 since 08/03/2023. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 8.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 2047d4c053043102bc46a37d383b392704bf14d7 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
