A vulnerability was found in AudioCodes VoIP Desk Phone up to 3.4.4.1000 (IP Phone Software). It has been classified as problematic. An issue was discovered on AudioCodes VoIP desk phones through 3.4.4.1000. The validation of firmware images only consists of simple checksum checks for different firmware components. Thus, by knowing how to calculate and where to store the required checksums for the flasher tool, an attacker is able to store malicious firmware.
The weakness was disclosed 08/12/2023 as SYSS-2022-055. The advisory is shared for download at syss.de. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-22955 since 01/11/2023. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
