A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in YoungZSoft CMailServer 5.2.0 (Mail Server Software). Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file fdelmail.asp. The manipulation of the argument indexOfMail with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in (1) fdelmail.asp, (2) addressc.asp, and possibly (3) postmail.asp and (4) fmvmail.asp in CMailServer 5.2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary SQL commands and delete mail metadata or e-mail addresses of contacts via the indexOfMail parameter.
The bug was discovered 11/12/2004. The weakness was presented 01/10/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1129 since 12/02/2004. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
