prefs.php in SquirrelMail before 1.4.4, with register_globals enabled, allows remote attackers to inject local code into the SquirrelMail code via custom preference handlers.

The bug was discovered 01/14/2005. The weakness was published 01/29/2005 by FraMe (Website). The advisory is shared at squirrelmail.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-0075 since 01/14/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Upgrading to version 1.4.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
