A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in PrestaShop M4 PDF Plugin up to 3.2.3 on Prestashop (E-Commerce Management Software). This issue affects an unknown function of the file /m4pdf/pdf.php. The manipulation of the argument f with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. M4 PDF plugin for Prestashop sites, in its 3.2.3 version and before, is vulnerable to a directory traversal vulnerability. The “f” parameter is not properly checked in the resource /m4pdf/pdf.php, returning any file given its relative path. An attacker that exploits this vulnerability could download /etc/passwd from the server if the file exists.
