A vulnerability was found in systeminformation up to 5.21.6. It has been declared as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function wifiConnections/wifiNetworks of the component SSID Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. systeminformation is a System Information Library for Node.JS. Versions 5.0.0 through 5.21.6 have a SSID Command Injection Vulnerability. The problem was fixed with a parameter check in version 5.21.7. As a workaround, check or sanitize parameter strings that are passed to `wifiConnections()`, `wifiNetworks()` (string only).
The weakness was published 09/21/2023 as GHSA-gx6r-qc2v-3p3v. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2023-42810 since 09/14/2023.
