A vulnerability was found in PrestaShop up to 8.1.1 (E-Commerce Management Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function ajaxProcessGetPossibleHookingListForModule. PrestaShop is an Open Source e-commerce web application. In the Prestashop Back office interface, an employee can list all modules without any access rights: method `ajaxProcessGetPossibleHookingListForModule` doesn't check access rights. This issue has been addressed in commit `15bd281c` which is included in version 8.1.2. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workaround for this issue.
The weakness was presented 09/28/2023 as GHSA-gvrg-62jp-rf7j. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-43664 since 09/20/2023. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
Upgrading to version 8.1.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 15bd281c18f032a5134a8d213b44d24829d45762 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
