Details
A vulnerability was found in NetIQ Pssecure 7.5. It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown part in the library qsys.lib. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
** DISPUTED ** Directory traversal vulnerability in the third party tool from NetIQ, as used to secure the iSeries AS/400 FTP server, allows remote attackers to access arbitrary files, including those from qsys.lib, via ".." sequences in a GET request. NOTE: the vendor has disputed this issue, saying that "neither NetIQ Security Manager nor our iSeries Security Solutions are vulnerable."
