The executable file warning was not presented when downloading .msix, .msixbundle, .appx, and .appxbundle files, which can run commands on a user's computer. Note: This issue only affected Windows operating systems. Other operating systems are unaffected.This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-5727. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1499.
Upgrading to version 119 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
