A vulnerability was found in perl 5.8.0 (Programming Language Software). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component perlio. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 08/10/2006. The weakness was published 05/02/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared at ubuntulinux.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-0155 since 01/27/2005.
