A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Gallery 1.3.4 Pl1 (Photo Gallery Software). Affected is some unknown functionality of the file add_comment.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Gallery 1.3.4-pl1 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the index field in add_comment.php, (2) set_albumName, (3) slide_index, (4) slide_full, (5) slide_loop, (6) slide_pause, (7) slide_dir fields in slideshow_low.php, or (8) username field in search.php.
The weakness was presented 05/02/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at gallery.menalto.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-0219 since 02/05/2005. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
