A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in almosteffortless secure-files Plugin up to 1.1 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). Affected is the function sf_downloads of the file secure-files.php. The manipulation of the argument downloadfile with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was shared 10/03/2005 as cab025e5fc2bcdad8032d833ebc38e6bd2a13c92. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-10002.
