A vulnerability was found in MediaWiki (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code. Directory traversal vulnerability in MediaWiki 1.3.x before 1.3.11 and 1.4 beta before 1.4 rc1 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files or determine file existence via a parameter related to image deletion.
The bug was discovered 02/22/2005. The weakness was disclosed 05/02/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared at sourceforge.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-0536 since 02/24/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
