A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Oracle Database 9i (Database Software). This issue affects an unknown function of the component XDB. Multiple buffer overflows in the XML Database (XDB) functionality for Oracle 9i Database Release 2 allow local users to cause a denial of service or hijack user sessions.
The weakness was published 08/18/2003 by David Litchfield with Oracle (Website). The advisory is shared at otn.oracle.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2003-0727 since 09/02/2003. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
