CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in aio-libs aiohttp up to 3.8.5. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component HTTP Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a request smuggling vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-444. The product acts as an intermediary HTTP agent (such as a proxy or firewall) in the data flow between two entities such as a client and server, but it does not interpret malformed HTTP requests or responses in ways that are consistent with how the messages will be processed by those entities that are at the ultimate destination. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. The summary by CVE is:

aiohttp is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. The HTTP parser in AIOHTTP has numerous problems with header parsing, which could lead to request smuggling. This parser is only used when AIOHTTP_NO_EXTENSIONS is enabled (or not using a prebuilt wheel). These bugs have been addressed in commit `d5c12ba89` which has been included in release version 3.8.6. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for these issues.

The weakness was released 11/14/2023. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2023-47627 since 11/07/2023. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 212515 (Debian dsa-5828 : python-aiohttp-doc - security update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 3.8.6 eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (212515) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2024-0949). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
