Details
A vulnerability has been found in DrayTek Vigor2960 1.5.1.4/1.5.1.5 (Router Operating System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function dumpSyslog of the file mainfunction.cgi of the component Web Management Interface. The manipulation of the argument option with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Draytek Vigor2960 v1.5.1.4 and v1.5.1.5 are vulnerable to directory traversal via the mainfunction.cgi dumpSyslog 'option' parameter allowing an authenticated attacker with access to the web management interface to delete arbitrary files. Vigor2960 is no longer supported.
