A vulnerability has been found in oroinc OroPlatform up to 4.1.13/4.2.10/5.0.8 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function FileManager::getTemporaryFileName. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. OroPlatform is a PHP Business Application Platform (BAP) designed to make development of custom business applications easier and faster. Path Traversal is possible in `Oro\Bundle\GaufretteBundle\FileManager::getTemporaryFileName`. With this method, an attacker can pass the path to a non-existent file, which will allow writing the content to a new file that will be available during script execution. This vulnerability has been fixed in version 5.0.9.

The weakness was disclosed 11/28/2023 as GHSA-9v3j-4j64-p937. The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-41951 since 09/30/2022. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 5.0.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
