A vulnerability has been found in Subdreamer Subdreamer Light 1.0 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file index.php of the component magic_quotes_gpc. The manipulation of the argument imageid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQL injection vulnerability in index.php in Subdreamer Light, when magic_quotes_gpc is enabled, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via certain parameters that are used as global variables, as demonstrated using the imageid parameter, which is not properly handled by imagegallery.php.
The bug was discovered 03/18/2005. The weakness was presented 05/02/2005 by Foster (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-0805 since 03/20/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 45 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:index.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12156 (Subdreamer SQL Injection Vulnerability).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
