A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in HAProxy up to 2.8.1 (Firewall Software). This issue affects an unknown function of the component path_end Rule Handler. HAProxy before 2.8.2 accepts # as part of the URI component, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information or have unspecified other impact upon misinterpretation of a path_end rule, such as routing index.html#.png to a static server.
The weakness was presented 11/29/2023. It is possible to read the advisory at git.haproxy.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-45539 since 10/09/2023.
