A vulnerability was found in Squid Proxy up to 6.4 (Firewall Software). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component HTTP Message Handler. Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and more. Due to a Buffer Overread bug Squid is vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack against Squid HTTP Message processing. This bug is fixed by Squid version 6.5. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
The weakness was presented 12/05/2023 as GHSA-8w9r-p88v-mmx9. The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-49285 since 11/24/2023. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
