A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in phpSysInfo 2.3. This issue affects an unknown function of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument hide_picklist with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in phpSysInfo 2.3, when register_globals is enabled, allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) sensor_program parameter to index.php, (2) text[language], (3) text[template], or (4) hide_picklist parameter to system_footer.php.
The bug was discovered 03/24/2005. The weakness was shared 05/02/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared at xforce.iss.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-0870 since 03/26/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
