Details
A vulnerability has been found in Mozilla Firefox up to 1.0.2 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function setter. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Firefox before 1.0.3 and Mozilla Suite before 1.7.7 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in other domains via a setter function for a variable in the target domain, which is executed when the user visits that domain, aka "Cross-site scripting through global scope pollution."
