A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Coppermine Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.3.x (Photo Gallery Software). This affects an unknown code block of the file init.inc.php. The manipulation of the argument X-Forwarded-For with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in init.inc.php in Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.3.x allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the X-Forwarded-For parameter.
The bug was discovered 04/19/2005. The weakness was disclosed 05/02/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared at marc.info. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2005-1172 since 04/18/2005.
