Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in SteVe Community ocpp-jaxb up to 0.0.7. Affected is an unknown part of the component StartTransaction Open Charge Point Protocol. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SteVe Community ocpp-jaxb before 0.0.8 generates invalid timestamps such as ones with month 00 in certain situations (such as when an application receives a StartTransaction Open Charge Point Protocol message with a timestamp parameter of 1000000). This may lead to a SQL exception in applications, and may undermine the integrity of transaction records.
The weakness was shared 12/27/2023 as 13. The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2023-52096 since 12/26/2023. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
