Froxlor is open source server administration software. Prior to version 2.1.2, it was possible to submit the registration form with the essential fields, such as the username and password, left intentionally blank. This inadvertent omission allowed for a bypass of the mandatory field requirements (e.g. surname, company name) established by the system. Version 2.1.2 fixes this issue.
The weakness was shared 01/04/2024 as GHSA-625g-fm5w-w7w4. It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2023-50256 since 12/05/2023. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Upgrading to version 2.1.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 4b1846883d4828962add91bd844596d89a9c7cac is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
