Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Apple macOS (Operating System) (version unknown). This affects an unknown function of the component RSA PKCS Private Key Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a channel accessible vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-300. The product does not adequately verify the identity of actors at both ends of a communication channel, or does not adequately ensure the integrity of the channel, in a way that allows the channel to be accessed or influenced by an actor that is not an endpoint. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
A timing side-channel issue was addressed with improvements to constant-time computation in cryptographic functions. This issue is fixed in iOS 16.7.6 and iPadOS 16.7.6, iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3, macOS Monterey 12.7.4, macOS Sonoma 14.3, macOS Ventura 13.6.5, tvOS 17.3, watchOS 10.3. An attacker may be able to decrypt legacy RSA PKCS#1 v1.5 ciphertexts without having the private key.
