A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in GNU Mailutils 0.5/0.6. Affected is some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. Format string vulnerability in imap4d server in GNU Mailutils 0.5 and 0.6, and other versions before 0.6.90, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in the command tag for IMAP commands.

The bug was discovered 05/12/2005. The weakness was released 05/25/2005 by infamous41md (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com.
