The VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) feature in Cisco IOS 12.1(19) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a VTP version 1 summary frame with a VTP version field value of 2.
The weakness was presented 09/14/2006 by Felix Lindner (FX) with Phenoelit (Website). The advisory is available at phenoelit.de. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-4774 since 09/13/2006. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
