A vulnerability was found in FreeBSD (Operating System) (the affected version unknown). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function proc_getargv. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-125. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
When dumping core and saving process information, proc_getargv() might return an sbuf which have a sbuf_len() of 0 or -1, which is not properly handled. An out-of-bound read can happen when user constructs a specially crafted ps_string, which in turn can cause the kernel to crash.
